May 11, 2001 - Eric found out that during the race Governor Jesse Ventura would be close by at Brainerd airport and Eric drove out to say hello and to tell him about the race! Thanks Eric, and thank you Governor Ventura!

Dagger Kayak, graciously donated by Dagger for the race. Carl Johson sold the kayak after the race to make money for Rett Syndrome Research.
